Most people don’t know that the Eiffel Tower is open very late at night. Of course you can go up the tower until midnight in summer and until 11 PM in winter. If you go there at night, there is usually less people and you don’t have to wait in ques. And also the view from the Eiffel Tower is even more beautiful during the night. But the most beautiful thing about the Eiffel Tower during the night are the lights that start at nightfall and continue every hour for five minutes. Then the Eiffel Tower starts to twinkle and it feels like the most magical thing in the world!

Hours of Operation

The Eiffel Tower is open every day of the year. With the exception of certain holidays that either extend or reduce admission times, regular hours of operation from early July through late August are 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 a.m., though the last elevator ride to the top departs at 11:00 p.m.

For the reminder of the year, the tower is open from 9:30 a.m. until 11:45 p.m., with the last elevator ascending at 10:30 p.m. Times for stair access are similar to those for the elevators during peak season and drastically cut back to 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. the rest of the year.

Consider your timing

For the best of all worlds, plan to arrive close to sundown to see the views, then stay as it gets dark to see the lights. At the top of the hour, a five-minute display features thousands of sparkling lights lassoing the tower. However impressive it may be by day, the tower is an awesome thing to behold at twilight, when darkness fully envelops the city, and the tower is resplendent with its spectacular light show.
